People are just discovering Netflix hack that means they’ll never miss a TV show release again – how to switch it on

NETFLIX encourages viewers to use a handy tool to never miss a TV show premiere or release ever again.

It’s perfect for when movie fans and TV fans are “out of the office or just braving the summer heat,” Netflix wrote in a recent blog post.

Not only does it alert viewers to a premiere, but it also means Netflix knows they want to watch it — which ultimately helps improve recommendations

“It’s sort of a way to mark your calendar so you don’t miss a movie debut, season premiere, or the start of your soon-to-be-favorite show,” the streaming giant said keep goingD.

Users just need to search for the line “Coming Soon” on their TV homepage or in the “New & Current” section in the mobile app.

All films and series that are waiting to be released in cinemas are displayed here.

Viewers then have the option to click the Remind button.

Once that button is pressed, a reminder will be set and users will eventually receive a notification from Netflix when it’s time to hit play.

The tool, while not nearly new, is little used.

Glen Davis, a product designer on Netflix’s Streaming Discovery team, said the feature was first tested back in 2018 and rolled out about six months later.

“We wanted to make it really simple: if you see something you’re really interested in, tell us you’re interested and we’ll do the rest, reminding you when the title is ‘It’s Actually Watchable.’ available,” added Davis.

Her job is to make sure Netflix subscribers find and enjoy what they watch.

The Remind Me tool does just that.

Not only does it alert viewers to a premiere, but it also means Netflix knows they want to watch the premiere.

This will help improve their recommendations over time.
