People are just realising they can unlock hundreds of hidden free channels on their TV – including Judge Judy and MTV

PEOPLE are turning to free, legal streaming platforms to reduce spending on too many services like Netflix.
Most recently, Disney+ announced a price increase, but also introduced a cheaper alternative with advertising.
But there are already numerous free, advertising-financed alternatives hidden on your TV boxes.
Here are six you may have missed.
Pluto TV
Pluto TV offers more than 250 channels and thousands of movies and shows on demand.
Many of the channels are themed around specific genres and shows, such as CSI, Judge Judy, Most Haunted, Baywatch, Catfish: The TV Show, and Teen Mom streams, to name a few.
You’ll also find plenty of MTV music channels and Channel 5 themed stations here.
freevee
Freevee is Amazon’s answer to free TV with some big names in the program.
The platform has a growing number of originals, including Judge Judy’s new show Judy Justice.
Freevee is also the new home of Australian soap Neighbors, returning in September.
UKTV Play
UKTV Play is the free streaming service for Dave, Drama, W and Yesterday channels.
You’ll find everything from cooking shows like Masterchef Australia to entertainment from Meet The Richardsons.
You can watch the channels live or choose what you like on demand.
ITVX
ITVX launched in late 2022 as the new streaming destination for all ITV.
While there are plenty of the shows you already love and a growing list of streamed shows, the platform also has some streamed TV channels that you can’t catch on regular TV.
There are theme channels like Comedy 24/7, Quiz Time, Loved Up and True Crime International.
There’s even a channel dedicated to Love Island.
You’ll also find the brand new ITVX Kids channel, set to replace CITV.
Roku Channel
There are many popular shows and movies available to watch on the Roku Channel.
These currently include The Exorcist, Robocop, Farscape, Storage Hunters and America’s Next Top Model.
There’s even Wallace & Gromit’s Cracking Contraptions, Shaun The Sheep and All Dogs Go To Heaven for the kids.
The Roku Channel is available as an app on Hisense TVs, Asda’s Polaroid Roku TVs, Now TV and Sky Q.
channels with your TV
Some Smart TVs also come with their own selection of streamed TV channels.
For example, Samsung has Samsung TV Plus and LG has LG Channels.

So take a look around your Smart TV to see what’s on there.
