People are just beginning to realize what the lines in the bottom of the freezer are for – but opinions are divided.
The debate began when a Queensland woman claimed they were designed to store meat.

The woman who first asked the question sparked the heated debate by posting on Facebook: “How old were you when you found out the lines on the bottom of the freezer are made to hold the meat trays upright?
“Years old today,” she added, along with three blown away emojis to express her shock.
Alongside this, she uploaded photos of around a dozen packets of meat resting side by side against the raised white ridges.
And today, the Twitter account, @todayyearsoldigShe posted the original Facebook post from 2019 with the caption: “Ain’t no way”.
But while this theory might make sense, social media users have been debating it online.
The tweet quickly garnered over 7,000 likes and 180 comments from people who left their thoughts on the stunning discovery.
One wrote: “All I can think about is those meat juices collecting at the bottom of these trays and making it gross all over the place when you thaw it.”
Another said: “At this point you’re all just making things up [for real]”.
A third commented: “These ribs are designed to ensure cold air can flow under anything you freeze. It’s a matter of efficiency. Not for meat bowls.”
A fourth added: “No. They help air circulate under the packs so they freeze faster and don’t stick to the shelf.”
A fifth joked: “My grandmother used to say that – BUT then the stuff was sealed properly and lasted forever. lol I advise you not to try that anymore these days.”
Another chimed in: “Nah, that’s a stretch.
But others found the discovery downright brilliant.
One Twitter user wrote: “Wow… I just plug them in like this, can you start adding guides with these gadgets”.
Someone else joked, “Twitter should be a class that starts in junior year of high school.”
“I just need to stop living… did everything wrong,” said another.
And people are just realizing how easy it is to tell how much is left in a spray bottle.
Once you pee off the decorated foil you are left with a clear spray bottle that can easily tell you how much product is left in the spray bottle.
