Atlus surprised gaming fans last summer when it announced that it would release its beloved Persona series on . This announcement was then followed by the news that Persona 3 wearable, Persona 4 Gold and Persona 5 Royal would also make it to other modern platforms.
The company announced this at the time P5R would be the first of the three games to arrive, with the two older titles set to follow in 2023. On Saturday, before Persona 5 Royals Released October 21st on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Steam and Xbox Game Pass, Atlus announced that it would start Persona 3 wearable and Persona 4 Gold to additional platforms on January 19, 2023. For the former, that means PlayStation 4 (and PS5 through backwards compatibility), Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Xbox Game Pass. For the latter, it’s the same platforms without Steam P4G is available since 2020.
The expanded availability means many more people will have the opportunity to experience the Persona series. Before Atlus announced they were bringing the franchise to more platforms, you had to go out of your way to play the older titles. For example, before the release of Steam in 2020, Persona 4 Gold was only available on PlayStation Vita. For P3P, meanwhile, your options were either PlayStation Portable or, more likely, PS Vita through backwards compatibility.
