Phil Tufnell: Who is the I’m a Celebrity South Africa finalist and former England cricketer?

ITV’s All Stars edition of i am a celebrity – Insert South Africa – is almost finished.
I’m a celebrity South Africa has seen several prominent former contestants return to the series for a range of new challenges.
Carol Vorderman, Shaun Ryder and former royal butler Paul Burrell are among the faces who came back for another try on the series.
Ahead of the show’s launch, ITV promised the new location would offer “bigger” and “tougher” challenges in a “tougher and more unforgiving” environment.
Among the finalists ahead of tonight’s final episode is former England cricketer Phil Tufnell, who first appeared on the show two decades ago.
Tufnell, 56, best known for being the team captain on the BBC game show A question of sportHe began his career as a cricketer.
A left-arm slow bowler, he played for both England and Middlesex County Cricket Club from 1986 to 2002.
After retiring, he quickly blossomed into an athlete personality, appearing in a number of television shows including Celebrity deal or no deal, The hunt And Be sure to come dance.
Phil Tufnell is best known as the team captain on A Question Of Sport.

His arrival in South Africa is the second time he has been there I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! after winning the show’s second season in 2003.
He took part in the seventh series Be sure to come dance in 2009 in collaboration with Katya Wirshilas. The couple dropped out in the ninth week.

Open about his time at i am a celebrity previously, Tufnell said radio times: “Eating challenges are the hardest, especially when you have witch larvae or creepy crawlies that are still moving.”
“Eating living beings was the hardest part for me. My advice is to eat dead things,” he said.
“To cheer yourself up, use team spirit. You have to win food for camp to make you feel like Tarzan – a hunter-gatherer bringing home the bacon.”
