PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A young boy was taken to the hospital after Philadelphia police said he fell from a window in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood.

It happened around 5 p.m. Saturday on the 500 block of East Girard Avenue.

Police say the boy, around 5, was in a bedroom playing with two siblings, a 7-year-old and an 11-month-old, when he fell from a second-story window.

According to police, the child’s mother was at home when the bedroom window gave way.

It is unclear where the mother was in the apartment or if she was with the boy.

There were several witnesses who were nearby when the child was at the window. A passer-by caught the child’s fall.

The boy was flown to a nearby hospital, where he was placed in extremely critical condition.

No charges were filed at this time.
