Philadelphia Fire: Part of home collapses as firefighters battle Mayfair blaze on Welsh Road

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — As Philadelphia firefighters worked to control a house fire Friday morning, part of the building collapsed.

The fire broke out around 6am on Friday at the 4000 block of Welsh Road between Charles Street and Frankford Avenue in Mayfair.

Arriving emergency services were in front of a two-story apartment building that was completely on fire.

About 20 minutes after the firefighting began, part of the house collapsed, forcing firefighters to work only from the outside.

It is currently unclear whether there are any injuries.
