Philadelphia homicide: Woman found dead in Roxborough suffered ‘blunt force trauma’ injuries

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police are investigating after a woman was found dead in an apartment building Sunday afternoon.

The discovery was made at around 1:09 p.m. at block 4200 of Houghton Street in the Roxborough borough.

Police say a 96-year-old woman was found in the living room suffering from head and body injuries from blunt force trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An unidentified man was arrested and a gun was seized, police said

The circumstances of the murder were not made public.
