Philadelphia police: Man found dead in Tacony suffered gunshot wound to head

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police are investigating after a man was found dead in the Tacony neighborhood.

It happened around 8:42 p.m. on October 18 at the 4700 block of Alcott Street.

Police say Thomas Hennessey, 55, sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

He was found lifeless on the ground with blood around his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police initially believed the victim might have fallen out of his wheelchair and hit his head on the ground.

No arrests were made in the case.
