Philadelphia police: Teen shot, killed while walking dog in Frankford

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police say a teenager was gunned down while walking a dog in the Frankford neighborhood.
It happened around 8:51 p.m. near the 5300 block of Horrocks Street.
According to police, the 17-year-old female victim was walking with another teenager and a small dog to a supermarket near Bridge Street and Oxford Avenue when they noticed men in a gray Dodge Challenger.
At one point, the teens made eye contact with those in the vehicle, but no words were exchanged, police said.
The girls were then traced to the 5300 block of Horrocks Street. At one point, a suspect in the car fired six shots, hitting the 17-year-old multiple times, said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector DF Pace.
The teenager was taken to Temple University Hospital, where she later died.
It is still unclear whether the other teenager was injured.
The police are trying to find out whether the youths knew the perpetrators.
No arrests were made.
