Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock shot, killed at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles

SOUTH LOS ANGELES — Popular Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock was shot dead at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles restaurant in south Los Angeles on Monday, sources tell our sister network KABC-TV.

The shooting was reported at 1:23 p.m. at the restaurant on Block 100 of Manchester Avenue.

According to the police, the shooting was apparently committed during a robbery.

“The victim was in the dining area of ​​a restaurant with a witness when they were approached by at least one suspect, who drew a firearm and demanded property from the victim,” said LAPD Capt. Kelly Muniz.

“The suspect then shot the victim multiple times and took belongings and then left the scene in a getaway car.”

The victim was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead, she said.

At a press conference on Monday, Muniz declined to confirm the victim’s identity.

But sources tell KABC that the person who was shot and later pronounced dead was Rakim Allen, aka PnB Rock.

The 30-year-old rapper is known for singles like “Fleek” and “Elfish.”

Allen grew up in the Germantown area of ​​Philadelphia. He used the name PnB as an acronym for the intersection of Pastorius and Baynton Streets.
