PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A football player was killed and four others injured after two gunmen ambushed the group outside Roxborough High School in Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Fairway Terrace, just as a football scuffle between three schools ended: Roxborough High School, Northeast High School and Boys Latin Charter School.

Investigators say the five players left the field when two gunmen ambushed them from a Ford Explorer.

Police say a 14-year-old man was shot and later died from his injuries.

Three other victims, including a 14-year-old man and a 17-year-old man, were taken to a local hospital. The 14-year-old and the 17-year-old are both stable. The condition of the fourth victim is unknown.

A fifth player suffered a graze, police said.

Police say the injured victims were playing football for Roxborough High School.
