CHESTER, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Leon Flach scored his first goal of the season in Thursday night’s Eastern Conference semifinals, and leaders Philadelphia Union beat fifth-placed Cincinnati 1-0.

Philadelphia, unbeaten at Subaru Park this year (13-0-5), will meet the winner of Sunday’s New York City FC-Montreal game in the conference finals.

Flat scored in the 59th minute. Mikael Uhre beat two defenders to a loose ball in front of the net and sent it to the penalty spot for Flax’s one-touch finish.

Philadelphia goaltender Andre Blake recorded his 16th clean sheet of the season. Blake made five saves, including a dive stop from Brandon Vazquez’s breakaway shot in the 83rd round.

Cincinnati, who defeated the New York Red Bulls, were aiming to become the third expansion team in MLS history to advance in the first two postseason rounds.
