Philadelphia Viral Video: Fishtown resident finds raccoon hanging out in hammock

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — We could all use a night like this.

A raccoon appeared to be lounging quite comfortably in a hammock in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Sarah McAnulty heard a rustle on her porch as she worked at her home last Thursday.

She peeked outside and saw the raccoon freezing.

McAnulty posted a video on Twitter and wrote, “sorry who taught the raccoon on my back porch how to use a hammock?”

“I grabbed a flashlight and my phone, took a quick video and got back to work,” McAnulty said.

McAnulty said the animal spent the night there.

The video has over 42,000 likes on Twitter.

Animals are no strangers to McAnulty; She is a squid biologist who drives a car called the SquidMobile.

This isn’t the only Fishtown raccoon to go viral.

Earlier this summer, another raccoon was caught on camera. However, this one was seen being walked around on a leash.

This, of course, should not be confused with the Philly alligator on a leash.
