Excessive heat warnings begin to take effect in Southern California on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says the heat generated by high pressure centered over the Great Basin will continue through Labor Day weekend.

Forecasters say Antelope Valley could reach temperatures as high as 113 degrees during the heatwave, while other valley areas could hit 112 and the mountains and coastal areas inland could reach 105.
