Martin Ödegaard’s low shot was compounded in the second half when Fabian Schar shot into his own goal.

The win puts the Gunners within a point of leaders Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

And Arsenal fan Morgan insisted the title race was not over and Mikel Arteta could still achieve his title dream.

Taking to Twitter, he said: “City still have to go after Everton, Brighton and Brentford…while they battle Real Madrid for two stages…this title race isn’t over yet.”

City, who are currently the only clubs to have won three straight league titles en route to Manchester United, will also face Chelsea at the Etihad.

In Arsenal’s case, they face an away test against Nottingham Forest on either side of hosts Brighton and Wolves.

A four-game winless streak came to a head with a 4-1 defeat by Man City.

In this game, Arsenal lost their position at the top of the table.
