Plastic bag ban goes into effect in Media, Delaware County

MEDIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — A plastic bag ban went into effect in a Delaware County community on New Year’s Day.
Shoppers in Media, Pennsylvania must bring their own reusable bags or pay extra at the checkout for a paper bag.
Shops are also no longer allowed to offer customers plastic straws.
While the new ordinance went into effect Jan. 1, the county says enforcement and fines for violators will begin July 1, 2023.
Stores that don’t comply face fines of up to $300.
