PlayStation players go wild for three free games – but it’s still not as good as Xbox

THREE more three games are coming to PlayStation, but players are disappointed.

New games are added to the service every month, but almost a year after launch, fans have not been impressed.

PS Plus has been accused of adding lackluster games.

June free games include NBA 2K23, Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Trek to Yomi.

NBA 2K23 is a decent basketball simulator, but it’s sold at up to 90% off in many places.

Likewise Jurassic World Evolution 2, a decent management sim: think RollerCoaster Tycoon with dinosaurs.

Finally, Trek to Yomi is an action-adventure game from the last year that received mixed reviews.

While some are happy with the selection, many others compared it to Xbox’s Game Pass.

In the first half of June, eight additions will be added to Xbox Game Pass, including three new releases.

Amnesia: The Bunker has been long awaited and people are looking forward to its release.

Despite being slightly older titles, Rune Factory 4 and Stacking are popular with fans.

PS Plus relaunched the service a year ago in hopes of matching Game Pass’s popularity.

At first it seems like the reboot was successful and many were looking forward to playing the classic PlayStation library again.

However, the games added each month are not only fewer than those in Game Pass, they are often of poorer quality.

One Twitter user wrote: “This June I don’t even need PS Plus. It’s so bad!”

Others have complained about the consistently low quality and small number of games.

Another user wrote, “Absolutely insane move that puts us back in the NBA. Gosh.”

One person noted, “Sony was like, ‘There’s no point trying Plus games this month when Street Fighter 6, Diablo 4 and Final Fantasy 16 are out.’

Unlike Xbox, PlayStation refuses to include its first-party games on its subscription service until at least a year after launch.

PlayStation hasn’t released any updated numbers for its PS Plus service, but fans seem increasingly dissatisfied with the subscription.
