PlayStation VR2 Will Launch With Over 20 Games Available

We still don’t know when PlayStation VR2 will hit stores, but when it does, Sony says over 20 games will be available on day one.

Chronicle of Video Games reports that Jim Ryan, President of Sony Interactive Entertainment, told investors during an informational call that

“Right now, a significant amount of money is being spent on partnerships with independent and other third-party developers to ensure a significant pipeline of compelling VR content when PlayStation VR2 launches.”

He continued, “This energy, effort and money will continue to grow as the installed base of PlayStation VR2 headsets grows.”

A slide image from the presentation (posted below) states that these games consist of both first-party and third-party games. The only PS VR2 title announced so far is Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a first-person experience in development at Firesprite and Guerrilla Games.

Sony officially unveiled PS VR2 during CES in January. Headset features include improved screen resolution and head tracking, a single cable for easier setup, and more ergonomically designed controllers with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
