Poland’s President Addresses Ukraine’s Parliament, Calls for Removal of All Russian Troops

KYIV, Ukraine — During a surprise visit to Kyiv on Sunday, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda said that only Ukraine should decide on any terms it pursues peace with Moscow and he called for the complete removal of all Russian troops in Ukraine, breaking the views of European leaders, who suggested that the partially occupied country should obey some of the attacker’s requests.

Mr. Duda, the first foreign leader to speak directly to Ukraine’s parliament since Russia’s February 24 invasion, also called on the European Union to increase sanctions against Russia and accept Ukraine is the newest member.
