PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — After a night of gun violence in the city of Philadelphia, ten people were shot dead and three are dead.
It began in the Germantown neighborhood just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning. A 26-year-old man was shot dead in the Chew Avenue and Locust Street area. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where his condition is stable.
A 20-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were shot dead at the king’s session. It happened in the area of 52nd Street and Woodland Avenue just after 3am. No word on what led to the shooting and no arrests were made.
A woman was shot and killed just after 4 a.m. in the Tacony area of town. This happened in the Jackson Street area between Unruh Avenue and Knorr Street. The 29-year-old was shot in the face by a well-known person. She was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where she is in critical condition.
The police made an arrest and seized a weapon.
In North Philadelphia, 2 people were shot in the area of North Orkney Street and Indiana Avenue. A 29-year-old man and a 59-year-old man were shot dead just before 5 a.m. At least 60 shell casings were found at the scene. Both victims were taken to Temple University Hospital, where their condition is stable.
A 41-year-old man was shot once in the leg in North Philadelphia. It happened just before 5 a.m. at the 4500 block of North 12th Street. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where his condition is stable.
In Kensington, a man was shot dead in an attempted robbery near B Street and East Westmoreland Street. It happened just before 5:30 am. The 33-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where his condition is stable.
A 45-year-old man was shot dead on the 700 block of West Cayuga Street in Hunting Park. It happened just after 6:30 a.m
He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police are also investigating after a 45-year-old man showed up at Einstein Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds. He was placed in stable condition. Police do not know where the shooting took place.
