Pop icon reveals ‘crazy’ kitchen trick that changed her life

TEXAS star Sharleen Spiteri opened up about a “crazy” kitchen trick that she says has changed her life.
The Scottish rocker revealed she’s always had a hard time opening up glass lid and has tried various methods without much success.
But a pal has set her on an amazing new path that she claims works every time.
Sharleen, 55, said: “Seriously, I just learned this.
“My amazing friend showed me how to do it two weeks ago and I’ve been facetiming people and showing them.”
Sharleen revealed that the best way to remove a stuck jar lid is to hit it vigorously with a wooden spoon.

And she believes once you do that, it will open immediately.
She said, “Hold it in your hand. Take a wooden spoon and hit the edge once on the side.
“It makes this sound — it makes a pop — and it just opens.” That’s crazy.”
Sharleen has disclosed in the past that she has attempted to displace jar lids by tapping the lid when they are upside down.
But she claims the new method works every time, and she was keen to show off her skills to friends and family.
Sharleen said: “I told my sister. I contacted them via Facetime and said, “Look at this”.
“I opened every jar I could find in the house just to show people.”
Sharleen made the reveal to Strictly star Claudia Winkleman on her Radio 2 show.
The presenter joked, saying she usually has to use chants to open jars and was therefore intrigued by the new hack.
At first she refused to accept that it was even possible.
But she asked Sharleen, “Do you have to hit it in a certain spot?”
The pop star revealed that it’s all about power, not where you hit the glass.
Sharleen replied, “No, it’s just on the side of the rim. One bang and you hear it pop and open. Give him a good smack.”
Texas are still going strong and just played in front of a huge crowd at Glastonbury.
But in another revelation in the kitchen, Sharleen admitted that she once spat on a sandwich and served it up.
She revealed it happened while she was working as a hairdresser in Glasgow and did it to get revenge on a rude customer.
Just days ago, the band’s former keyboardist Michael Bannister claimed he was “regularly fat-shamed” during his time with the group.

The musician also said he was threatened with expulsion from the group and compared the show business industry in Scotland to the ‘Wild West’.
A PR firm representing the band said so daily record that Bannister’s claims were “completely untrue”.
