Atlanta rapper Trouble DTE was shot and killed while sitting in his car in Atlanta, Media Take Out has learned. Details of his death have not yet been confirmed, but the rapper only turned 35.
Atlanta’s rap community mourns again. Early Sunday morning, June 5, it was reported that Trouble – best known for hits like “Ain’t My Fault,” “Ready” and “Kesha Dem” – was shot dead in his car.
The news was confirmed by the rapper’s ex-girlfriend, Alexis Sky, in a heartfelt message on Twitter and Instagram. “Never thought I’d get the call this morning. Speechless. Sorry this happened to you Skoob… Praying for your children and family,” she wrote. Frequent Trouble collaborator Young Scooter also confirmed the news on his Instagram Stories. He shared a photo of the late rapper and wrote, “DAM SKOOB REST UP MY BOY.”
Trouble’s last tweet was just after midnight. “It’s too many 12 for me tonight IM GOIN HOME…Yall move smoove outchea,” he tweeted. The rapper was signed to the Duct Tape Entertainment label, where he has worked with well-known acts such as Drake, The Weeknd, Migos, 2 Chainz, City Girls and more.
