Pottstown Pa. Murders: 2nd suspect surrenders in killing of 2 teenagers in Pottstown, Pa.

POTTSTOWN, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — A second suspect has been arrested in the murders of two teenagers in Pottstown, Montgomery County last week.

Deonte Kelly, 23, of Philadelphia, surrendered to Montgomery County detectives at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Dominic Carboni, 17, of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, was arrested last Thursday.

Both are charged with the murder in the October 17 shooting of 17-year-old Skyler Fox of Stowe and 18-year-old Brandon Bacote-Byer of Lower Pottsgrove.

Police responding to 911 shots arrived in the area of ​​Fourth Street and Johnson Street around 11:30 p.m. and found the two deceased victims on the ground near Fox’s vehicle.

Officers recovered numerous fired shell casings, a projectile and a 9mm handgun with a defaced serial number at the scene.

Investigators say Carboni met with Fox to buy marijuana.

Prior to that meeting, officials said Carboni picked up Kelly in his maroon pickup truck and drove to the meeting point.

Recovered text data showed that Fox and Carboni arranged the meeting and marijuana purchase via a series of messages throughout the day, beginning at 3:08 p.m. and ending at 11:22 p.m., just 11 minutes before the shooting, when both Fox and Carboni were cell phones were in the area of ​​the shooting,” the prosecutor’s office said.

“Text records also showed that Carboni deleted his message history with Fox at 11:45 p.m. that same evening, just minutes after the shooting.”

It is unclear what role the second victim played in the deal.

An autopsy was performed on both of them, which found the teenagers died from multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death was homicide.

According to officials, surveillance video showed a maroon Ford pickup truck fleeing the area after the killings. They say it is the same color and model as one of Carboni’s father’s Ford trucks, which he saw driving earlier that evening.

Kelly and Carboni were charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and robbery.
