Power problems force the evacuation of the Germantown apartment building

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — SEPTA buses were deployed Saturday to keep people warm after they were evacuated from their homes in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Officials say there was a problem with a transformer in the basement of the Lennox Apartments on the 200 block of Walnut Lane.

The problem was reported just after 8:00 am

To fix the problem, the power had to be turned off.

Dozens of people have been displaced while the problem was addressed.
