After telling ITV Tonight’s Tom Bradby how he repressed the trauma of losing his mother Princess Diana, he slammed the royal for intimacy and communication problems growing up.

Prince Harry said in an audio recording of his book: “He always seemed like he wasn’t quite ready for parenthood: the responsibility, the patience, the time.

“Even he, despite being a proud man, would have admitted that.

“But single parent? Pa was never made for this. To be fair, he tried.”

This week, The Sun also revealed that Princes Harry and William begged the King not to marry Camilla over fears she would be their evil stepmother.

In an explosive segment of his biography, Spare, the Duke of Sussex relives the moment he was first introduced to today’s Queen Consort.

Incredibly, he likened seeing her for the first time to avoiding pain while getting an injection.

He writes: “It’s nothing. Close your eyes and you won’t even feel it.”

Bradby suggested that Prince Harry had been “consistently scathing” about his stepmother, citing another claim in his book that his “interests were sacrificed on her PR age.”

But Prince Harry told Bradby: “None of the things I’ve said is scathing against any member of my family, especially my stepmother.”

And he insisted he was fine with their marriage and was telling the truth on the king’s wedding day when he said he was genuinely happy for her.

He continued, “William and I wanted our dad to be happy and he seemed very, very happy with her.

“We asked him not to marry. He made his choice.

“Um, and that’s his decision. But the two were and are very happy together.”

Prince Harry also said: “The book is very clear as to what happened.”

In an audio book recording, the prince reads: “‘We support you,’ we said. ‘We support Camilla,’ we said. ‘Please don’t marry her, just be together, Pa’.

“He didn’t answer. But she did. Immediately. Shortly after our private summits with her, she started playing the long game.

“A campaign aimed at marriage and eventually the crown, with Pa’s blessings, we suspected.

“Stories about her private conversation with Willy appeared all over the newspapers, stories that contained pinpoint details, none of which, of course, came from Willy.

“They could only have leaked from the other one person present.”

Prince Harry then told Bradby: “None of the things I’ve said is scathing against any member of my family, especially my stepmother.

“Things have happened that have been incredibly hurtful. Some in the past, some currently.

“No institution is immune to criticism.”
