PS5 exclusives release schedule: God of War: Ragnarok, Forspoken, more

The PlayStation 5 is now over a year old and is already building a solid library of exclusive titles. Here’s the release schedule for every PS5 exclusive you won’t find anywhere else, from Horizon Forbidden West to God of War: Ragnarok.
While it’s still not particularly easy to get your hands on a PlayStation 5, it’s fair to say the console has got off to a great start. Sony’s fifth home console is home to a whole host of exclusive PS5 products, taking full advantage of the blazing-fast SSD and intuitive new Dualsense controller.
While Sony is starting to bring some of its PS4 exclusives to PC, the list of PS5 exclusives is now growing rapidly. Here are all the PS5 exclusives we know of so far, including the games that have already been released.
The PS5 picked up where its predecessor left off in terms of exclusive games.
Upcoming PS5 Exclusives
2022 is shaping up to be a huge year for Sony, and we’ve already received huge first-party titles like Horizon: Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7.
Below is a list of all of the upcoming PS5 exclusives, along with any confirmed release dates we have so far.
Exclusive to PlayStation 2022
Experience the story of Joel and Ellie rebuilt from the ground up in The Last of Us Part 1
The Last of Us Part 1
Nine years after its original release, Naughty Dog is giving fans the chance to relive Joel and Ellie’s journey in The Last of Us Part 1. Dubbed the definitive version of the game, this PS5 exclusive release is a faithful recreation of the popular story, and its DLC Left Behind, rebuilt from the ground up.
Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson’s original voice and motion capture performances remain intact, while new animations, updated AI, and fresh combat will further enhance the experience than ever.
The world in Forspoken looks stunning.
Leave
Forspoken, Square Enix’s next action-adventure title, could be one of the most exciting games of the next year. Aside from its stunning visual style, fluid traversal and story of a woman transported from NYC to a mystical world, the game’s writing talent stands out with Gary Whitta (Rogue One) and Amy Hennig (Uncharted and the Legacy of Kain) out.
The PS5 exclusive was recently pushed back to October, so we’ll have to wait a while to explore the open world.
Ragnarok will be Kratos’ latest journey in Sony’s iconic franchise.
God of War: Ragnarok (Also available for PS4)
Kratos’ 2018 adventure remains one of the best for PlayStation 4, and it seems his return in 2022 will be similar – with stunning visuals, a story steeped in Norse mythology, and Atreus looking much more mature (BOY No more).
This time, our duo of deities are searching for Tyr, and in their quest they will encounter enemies new and old.
Upcoming PlayStation Exclusives, coming later than 2022:
Spider-Man 2 will introduce Venom alongside Kraven.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
While Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) and its Miles Morales-based sequel launched a new Spiderverse, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 expands it in many ways. For one, both Peter Parker and Miles appear to be playable, while Kraven and Venom will be the villains this time.
We’re excited to revisit Manhattan in 2023—especially how beautiful it looked in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Insomniac is working on a Wolverine title alongside Spider-Man 2.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Insomniac appears to have been handed the keys to the Marvel Kingdom, and the recently revealed Wolverine game could be just as exciting as his work on Spider-Man. While we don’t know much yet, this PS5 exclusive will likely be gory and brutal with Weapon X itself.
It’s also been confirmed to be a full-length title, as opposed to a shorter experience like Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The Knights of the Old Republic remake has a lot going for it.
Knights of the Old Republic Remake – timed exclusive
Knights of the Old Republic is one of the best RPGs in gaming and arguably the best Star Wars game of all time. It’s set 4,000 years before the original trilogy, meaning its worlds, while often familiar, are shown in a new light. Aspyr Media’s retelling of the classic will be a PS5 exclusive launch, and there’s a lot of pressure to get it right.
However, with some members of the original on board to help with the remake, this could be the perfect way to share a great story with a new audience.
Horizon: Call of the Mountain – Exclusive to PlayStation VR
Guerrilla’s open-world franchise is coming to VR, and a recent State of Play showed us our first gameplay. A first person adventure with climbing and fighting, you can check out the trailer below:
Current PS5 exclusives
Returnal was divisive when it launched.
PlayStation 4 has been at the forefront of exclusive games over the last generation, with Sony relaunching games like God of War and Ratchet and Clank while releasing titles like Bloodborne, Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Part 2. Some of these, like Returnal, will also be available on the new, revamped PlayStation Plus service.
Here are all of the current playable PlayStation 5 exclusives:
Deathloop is one of the most critically acclaimed PS5 releases to date.
That’s quite a list of titles Sony has already released for the console, and this is just the beginning of the PS5’s library, with many more to come over the next year or so.
So there you have it – that’s everything you need to know about all current and upcoming PS5 exclusives.
