PS5 gamers rush to buy ‘must have’ accessory that transforms your TV in latest price drop

PLAYSTATION 5 owners rave about an accessory that could become the “most used” remote control in your house.
It does more than a typical PS5 gaming controller – but at a fraction of the cost.
The PS5 Media Remote allows users to navigate through the apps on their Sony console without the standard gaming controller.
The intuitive layout of the device is similar to your regular TV remote control.
But unlike your TV remote, the Sony Media Remote can do a lot more than just change volume or HDMI when your PS5 is on and running.

You can basically use it as a stand-in for both controllers if needed when using media streaming apps like Netflix or Disney+.
The remote has buttons that take users directly to the Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, and YouTube apps.
“Since I use the PS5 for all TV streaming, I don’t even need a TV remote now,” wrote one customer in a five-star review on Amazon.
“So I just have the PS5 media remote to turn on the TV, control the volume, and navigate through PS5 media.”
Another wrote: “The best thing I’ve ever brought is not having to get out of bed to turn off the TV when it’s dark.”
The battery-powered Media Remote costs a fraction of the price of a traditional PS5 controller, even before the recent price drop.

The device normally costs around £25 online.
However, it’s currently available on Amazon for £16.99 with a 34 per cent discount.
It only requires two AA batteries, so you don’t have to spend extra money on a charging station or make room for extra cables.
However, some customers have complained about this feature, stating that charging from a USB port is easier.
While others who don’t use the apps pictured on the remote say it would be better if they could reprogram the buttons to direct them to the apps they use instead.
