Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has warned the superstar trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar that they must embrace a role on the bench whether they like it or not.
While former manager Mauricio Pochettino rarely made rotations, successor Galtier didn’t hesitate to bench Neymar on Saturday, three days before the Champions League opener against Juventus.

Neymar came on the hour but it was Mbappe who made way for his fellow striker in the 3-0 win at Nantes and the France international showed no sign of frustration.
Messi has played the most of the three, although he was also benched in the closing stages against Monaco and Toulouse.
Galtier, who took over this season, had warned the side would come first and he stayed true to his word as PSG netted a record 24 goals in their first six league games.
“I spoke about it twice – once with each of them and once with the whole squad to tell them it’s going to be like this and that we have the right attitude and we have to accept it,” Galtier said at a press conference on Monday.
With a busy schedule and the World Cup coming up, Galtier said there was no other choice.
“They say it’s new, but because of the very busy schedule, it’s a commitment for everyone,” he said.
“We play a lot, every three days, then every four days, then there’s the World Cup. Everyone has to understand that they can’t play every game.”
Sergio Ramos also got a relative break against Nantes and was only substituted on in the 62nd minute.
“Everyone has to be ready to play. The most important thing is the team. We have quality in both the starting XI and the substitutes,” said Presnel Kimpembe.
“We have a good group. Everyone knows that. We use each other to be as good as possible.”
