Qualifying order for Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Charlotte Motor Speedway is poised to host the longest race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season this weekend. Coca-Cola 600 kicks off this Sunday at 18:00 ET for an action-packed 400-lap race.

Located in Concord, North Carolina just outside of Charlotte, Charlotte Motor Speedway features a square oval design track with a total track length of 1.5 miles. The track opened in 1960 and features a 24° bank on curves and a 5° bank on straights. Aside from making two appearances on the NASCAR calendar this season, the track will host dirt races, including the World of Outlaws finals, among other popular racing events.

The Coca-Cola 600 will have 37 drivers. As with the other NASCAR Cup Series races, practice sessions for this race weekend will open on Saturday, May 28th at 7:00pm ET on FS1. The exercise session is scheduled for 15-20 minutes for each group.

This is followed by qualifying at 7:45 p.m. ET, which determines the grid positions for Sunday’s race.

While the qualification rules remain the same, the 37 riders will be split into two groups in an odd-even order and each group will complete two laps. The fastest five cars from each group advance to the second round to win poles for the prestigious Coca-Cola 600.
