Andy Murray has a Father’s Day surprise after winning in Nottingham
Andy Murray begins his Queen’s campaign against Alex de Minaur as the former British No. 1 continues his Wimbledon preparations and looks to continue his winning streak on grass.
Murray is a five-time Queen’s champion and comes to the tournament in renewed form after winning titles in Surbiton and Nottingham. The 36-year-old is keen to secure a seeded spot ahead of Wimbledon but faces a significant league climb against seventh-seeded Australian De Minaur, who has won all three of his previous encounters.
It is set to be Murray’s toughest challenge on grass this season and a physical test as he moves into the Queen’s opening round after 10 games in 14 days.
Elsewhere, Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune start their seasons on the pitch after British No. 1 Cameron Norrie made a winning start against Miomir Kecmanovic on Monday.

Rune plays a great first service game and leads the second set 1-0. 20-year-old Rune seems much more comfortable now and feels in control of this game.
15-30, Cressy loses two of three points on serve at the net, the third of which he had at the net with a wide open forehand. An inexcusable mistake.
Cressy follows with an ace and a solid point at the net. 40-30
Cressy holds his second serve and the set is back at 1-1.
Rune commits a double fault and starts the game at 0:15.

Rune Hit is a great first serve and he’s back on top at 4-3.
Cressy then hits a great first serve himself and we are back at 4:4.
Rune returns a great second serve and forces a miss from Cressy at the net. Rune is now in control at 5-4 in the tie break with his own serve.
Rune takes the two points with his serve and takes the first set.
After leading 5-2 early in the first half, Cressy should be really disappointed not being able to win that set.

Cressy plays a great return point and finishes it off with a powerful forehand winner. 1-1 in the tie-break.
A bad miss on Rune’s second serve and Cressy lets out a frustrated grunt. Rune leads 2:1.

game rune! We have 5-5 in the first set. Rune is still not at his best, but seems to have settled in.
With a score of 30-0, Cressy wins two points in a row on first serve and is 17/18 for the game.

A good serve from Rune and another backhand winner from Cressy puts us at 40-15.
Rune uses a dropshot and plays a little game of cat-and-mouse, letting Cressy Rune run the game.
Cressy served after just 29 minutes to make the score 5-3.
Classic Cressy as we are 15-30 after a smashing first serve and two double faults in a row. Rune has a great chance to return to this set here.
Cressy doesn’t stop shooting as he has his third straight double fault. Rune has two breakpoints.
