However, with Glen Kamara and Scott Wright set to leave in the coming days, Beale has other newcomers in mind.

The Gers boss said: “Danilo is a player we like, I think a lot of people like him.”

“He’s not the only forward we’re talking to, but he’s the one who’s out there.

“Cifuentes is again a player we like and we hope he can be promoted.

“I think we need to sign another midfielder. He’s powerful, he rules the corridor, he can play deep, or he can play eighth.

“By the time he gets here, things can take a turn.”

It is believed to be a deal for Los Angeles FC star Cifuentes is close to completion while Gers prepare for the Feyenoord return with an improved offer for the Brazilian striker Danilo.

Asked if he hopes there will be more players on board BEFORE Gers’ Premiership opener against Killie, Beale said: “Yes, definitely.

“You can see that we have done a lot by ourselves work early. The boys have only been back two weeks and tonight was our first game in front of a crowd.

“I’m not going to give numbers on how many will arrive, the market is moving pretty fast.

“We set ourselves specific goals and we managed to achieve some. I am really satisfied with the work we have done.

“We’re ahead of schedule.”

Beale made debuts for Sam Lammers, Kieran Dowell and Abdallah Sima as Gers host Newcastle Alan McGregor’s testimonial.

While Wright came on as a substitute in the 2-1 defeat, there was no sign Kamara was linked with a £4m move leeds.

Beale said: “There have been quite a few inquiries for Glen.

“We gave him a longer break due to his international assignments in the summer and unfortunately he has been ill for the past few days.

“That will continue, the speculation.”

“Scotty had a request or two this summer.

“He’s at an age where he wants to play regularly. I can’t guarantee that – he has to do it Fight for his minutes like everyone else here.

“I’m not ready to guarantee anyone that he’ll play and I think he’s of an age where he’s good enough to play and he probably feels like he’s spent a lot of time here doing it to get on the team.

“We have Wednesday off, which gives him an opportunity to talk to a person or two and maybe make some decisions himself.”

Beale – who also revealed Tom Lawrence could feature against Hamburg at the weekend – added: “It was a fantastic night for Allan McGregor and I want to thank Eddie and his staff for coming and playing the game.”

“It was a real game from start to finish. I thought they showed their quality.

“But there were a lot of good things to take away from the game.”
