Rangers hero ‘joining the dots’ on Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou Tottenham link

ANGE POSTECOGLOU may never join Tottenham.
But one day he will leave Celtic. And if he’s going anywhere, there are a few points that suggest Spurs are a sensible choice.
After being declared favorite by bookmakers for the north London vacancy, SunSport revealed last night how the Hoops boss had risen to the top of Daniel Levy’s shortlist as Arne Slot entrusted his future to Feyenoord.
It was believed that Luis Enrique and Sporting Lisbon manager Rubem Amorim were also a man in Spurs’ sights.
But Postecoglou’s success in Scottish football and his attacking style are attracting interest from the Premier League giants.
And fellow Australian Craig Moore believes anyone could put together the pieces that would result in Postecoglou moving from Glasgow to London.

Moore, a former Rangers captain, worked under Postecoglou during his time as coach of the Australia national team.
He spoke about Australia’s Scott Munn’s upcoming arrival as chief football officer at Spurs this summer.
Postecoglou and Munn both previously worked for City Football Group, the umbrella company that owns Manchester City and 11 other clubs around the world.
Munn was CEO of Melbourne City before taking on the same role in China in 2019, while Postecoglou was manager of Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan for three years before taking charge of Celtic in 2021.
With that in mind, and having seen Postecoglou already had ties with Everton, Wolves and Leeds, Moore reckons the ties are real this time around.
Moore told Go Radio: “You join the points, Frank Trimble is there, Scott Munn, head of football operations.
“Sometimes two plus two doesn’t mean four, but I’m just giving listeners some background information here.”
“Like I said, Ange will eventually leave. Planning management is almost impossible.”
“Sometimes a manager comes and the opportunity is seized. But I think it’s real.”
Meanwhile, Postecoglou has sought to distance himself from ties with Spurs.
He said in his pre-Aberdeen press conference: “I’ve often been asked about these things – and yet I’m still here.”
“That’s not the case [come onto my radar] And anyone who knows me knows what matters is the here and now – I’ve never planned anything in my football career.
“My goal is to enjoy tomorrow and then try to win a cup final and make it a special year.”
