Rapper TI Admits To ‘SNITCHING’ On Deceased Cousin To Avoid Jail Time … IS THIS SNITCHING??

TI appeared to admit he once “ratted out” his dead cousin to avoid jail time, Media Take Out has learned. And that revelation has sparked a heated debate on social media — with people debating whether TI did anything wrong.

In a resurfaced clip from an August 2020 episode of the rapper’s hugely popular podcast, the Atlanta comedian-turned-rapper recalled attaching a gun case to his late relative Toot in the early 2000s, before his music career took off.

As TI explained, he and Toot were conducting a stolen upscale clothing spree in their hometown of Atlanta when they were pulled over by cops who discovered a gun in Tip’s possession.

Toot – who introduced TI to DJ Toomp, the producer behind hits like “What You Know,” “24’s,” and “U Don’t Know Me” – was murdered during the trial. At the urging of his lawyer – and with Toot’s posthumous blessing – Tip escaped imprisonment by claiming the gun belonged to his cousin.

“We unload the truck in the Lennox Mall parking lot [of stolen clothes], I’ll talk to the man while I do the piece,” he recalled. “That n-gga looking at everything like, ‘Man, you got it all, you got it all?!’ “Muthafucka, we said what you want! Get that shit and go!’

“And then security at the mall [pull up] … We get in the car and drive off, and then of course they followed us and called the real police. So before we actually get onto the freeway, the real police stop us. I have a gun.”

“We got those gun cases, Toot died. My attorney said, ‘Well, you know, I could make it all go away, if it was Toots, it was Tremels,'” he said. “After he died, I had a conversation with him. Toot said, ‘I’ll take any fees you have! If you can go free and put it on me, damn it! ‘Cause I’ll be damned if they come and friggin’ hand me over from here!’”

Ti then added: “Hell no. Nobody knows about it, I only gave this information voluntarily. That’s the only time I’ve ever said anything or given any information because that’s my big cousin. He was dead and he told me it was okay.”
