Rare items have been removed from one of 2023’s most popular games – the strange reason why

One of the top rated games of 2023 had its best items removed due to an unintentional bug.

Fans were excited to see more rare loot in the game, but were quickly disappointed.

Diablo 4 has specific Helltide events every few hours for higher difficulty players.

Completing these challenges allows players to obtain rarer loot from rewards known as Helltide Chests.

This is currently the best way for experienced players to get the best items and more experience.

The best tier of loot in Diablo 4 is known as Uber Unique, and that’s the gear everyone wants to get their hands on.

There was supposed to be a rare chance for this loot to drop from Helltide chests, but a bug meant that it never did.

Developer Blizzard tried to change that by slightly increasing the drop rate of coveted loot.

However, it appears that the issue has been over-corrected as the Helltide Chests have transitioned from never dropping Uber Uniques to always dropping Uber Uniques.

As soon as this was posted, players obviously rushed to attend Helltide events hoping to snag their own Uber Unique.

When this happened, however, Blizzard soon realized, and the company overcorrected again.

While fixing the issue, Blizzard has removed that Uber Uniques are no longer available in-game at all.

According to the official Diablo Twitter, “We’ve temporarily stopped Uber Uniques from dropping in-game while we fix an issue with Helltide chest drops.”

“See our forums for more information.”

There are two factions of fans: those who want Helltide Chests to continue containing Uber Uniques so everyone can snag one, and those who want loot removed from people who picked up an Uber Unique.

With issues like this, it feels impossible to please everyone, but no one seems happy with these changes.
