Reba McEntire Joins ABC’s ‘Big Sky’ Season 3 as ‘Mercurial Matriarch’

On the heel of Supernatural alum Jensen Aboards will be cast in this season’s finale (airs Thursday, May 19) and then gets regular promotion for the newly ordered Season 3, Grammy Hall of Fame-winning country music. Famer Reba McEntire also joins the cast of the ABC drama.

TVLine already knew that McEntire in Season 3 would take on the role of Sunny Brick, the nimble matriarch of the Brick family, a successful expatriate woman with a secret history of “missing” clients.

McEntire’s previous TV credits of course include her WB/CW sitcom of the same name (which ran for six seasons in total), ABC’s Malibu . Based on the “Highway” book series by CJ Box, Big sky follows private detective Cassie Dewell (do Football pitchesby Kylie Bunbury) and her former partner, Deputy Minister Jenny Hoyt (Vikings‘Katheryn Winnick), as they investigate local crime, get involved in drug cartels, infamous kidnappers, crime dynasties and more along the way.

Big sky was renewed for a third season last week, at the time it was also announced that both Aprising and the 2nd season addition Jamie-Lynn Sigler (who plays Tonya) would be helming the series in the near future. next.
