Red Notice 2 and 3 Scripts Arriving Very Soon Say Producers

As Collider’s own editor-in-chief Steve Weintraubsat down to talk Beau Flynn and Hiram Garcia — the super producers responsible for many of the blockbusters you’ve seen in recent years, including this month’s Black Adam – he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to ask her what’s to come.

Garcia and Flynn are the best people to provide updates, especially about Dwayne Johnson projects. Over the years, the pair have produced several titles under Johnson’s direction, including Hercules, Baywatchand Rampagenot to mention the NBC series young rock. Our own editor-in-chief during the interview Steve Weintraub insisted on talking about the Netflix hit Red notice. In January, the streamer ordered two sequels for the film with Johnson. GalGadot (wonder woman), and Ryan Reynolds (Free guy). According to Flynn, the sequels are heating up and a new draft of the script is coming “very soon”:

“Well, we have a ‘Red Notice 2’ script and almost [Red Notice] 3. The plan is hopefully when Hiram and I go our way that we would do these movies back to back. But it’s all going to be about the scripts and how we feel and how Dwayne, Gal and Ryan think about them. But this franchise is a great thing and obviously Netflix really wants it and Rawson [Marshall Thurber, director and screenwriter] has committed.”

Garcia continued:

“Yes, Rawson (Marshall Thurber) is working away and we spoke to him about it the other day. He’s in deep and this is his baby and check out a new draft he’s going to bring to us very soon.”

Filming back-to-back sequels saves money and time, both of which are extremely important for this type of production. With three of the world’s most popular actors set to return for the sequels, it’s also a great way to film both at the same time to help coordinate their impossible schedules.

Red notice premiered on Netflix in late 2021 and quickly became one of the most watched films of all time on the platform. The action comedy is said to have cost $200 million to produce. When the sequels were announced, the streamer was already eyeing a 2023 production window, so it looks like everything is moving as expected. Meanwhile, the trio of leads are moving forward with their high-profile projects: Johnson is set to make his DC debut this month Black AdamReynolds is putting together dead pool 3With Hugh Jackman committed to reprising his iconic Wolverine role, and Gadot prepares to be none other than Cleopatra in an upcoming biopic.

Black Adam Premieres in theaters October 21. You can watch the trailer below, and be sure to check out our full interview with Garcia and Flynn when it kicks off:
