Redfall and Starfield have been delayed to the first half of 2023

Redfall and Starfield Both are delayed to first half of 2023, Bethesda confirmed today via a tweet. The post mentions that the publisher wants to “make sure you get the best, most polished versions of them.” Redfall was originally headed for a September release, while Starfield is set to premiere on November 11th.

The delay is no longer too surprising in the game’s development. Over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of titles get pushed back a few months later. While always disappointing, this is what happens with a lot of games these days. And considering Bethesda’s track record in releasing buggy titles, that’s probably for the best.

In the message, Bethesda promised that more new information would be available soon. The “first into the game” part is in the works. Hopefully that means we’ll see games in action over the summer.

Start a new countdown to launch

Redfall is the latest game developed by Arkane Austin. It’s an open-world, co-op, first-person shooter where the player must fight against a legion of vampires. It broke many new ground for the studio, with the inclusion of online multiplayer and a whole new setting. Honestly, it’s not entirely surprising to see Redfall affected by delays along with Starfield. After all, Arkane is trying a lot of new things here. Hopefully, it can come together on the title’s new release date.

And then there’s Starfield, Bethesda Game Studio’s next open-world RPG. The delay is surprising if only to see the developer skip the ’11/11/22′ release date. We’re aware there’s some concern after a former Bethesda employee told ResetEra users about some of the issues the game was having. There is also talk of a Starfield The beta will be out in the summer. This is still possible, as the delay could give Bethesda the time it takes to make changes based on player feedback. Whether that actually happens is something we’ll likely see over the next few months.

The delay for Redfall and Starfield hopefully give the developers enough time to perfect them further. This applies especially to Bethesda Game Studios, as its titles tend to get off to a rough start. We don’t have a new date for these titles yet. Hopefully, the wait won’t be too long.
