Redman talks about working with “difficult” Canibus

Keith Murray took part in an interview in which he revealed that Redman had tried to discourage him from working with Canibus.

But he didn’t listen

“Canibus just made it so difficult at the end of the day,” Redman said of the pair’s album In Gods We Trust: Crush Microphones to Dust. The “I was just like ‘Ugh!'” We had the opportunity to do it and I was working on an album. So when you see these titles that say Produced by Erick Sermon, that’s what their original title should be [me]but I gave them up.”

Murray soon realized that he should have listened to his friend.

Redman continued, “But then the album suffered. It was my idea. My baby. But then Canibus…I’m not badmouthing him…but he didn’t promote the album properly. And then he struck up a conversation with the publicist. It was a classic album, but we didn’t do any shows for it. No Ads. I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ And then Redman said…that n-gga said, ‘Be careful!’ and I didn’t know what he was talking about at the time, dammit.”
