Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the next movie and seemingly the entire project from Marvel Studios, here’s everything fans need to know including release date, cast, plot and other burning questions.
When will Guardians of the Galaxy 3 be released?
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be released in most parts of the world on May 5th, making it the first MCU film since the pandemic to be released without delays.
After the end of the Marvel film ban in the country volume 3 will be released in Chinese cinemas on the same day as in the US.
Those living in the UK or the Philippines are lucky enough to catch the film just a few days early guard 3 recently moved from May 5th to May 3rd in the two countries. This follows a pattern previously present during the Infinity Saga, when MCU releases came to the UK two days ahead of the US.
Which actors are returning in Guardians of the Galaxy 3?
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has confirmed 17 new and returning cast members so far, while a press release for the MCU threequel sheds some light on the 11 of those who will be most crucial to the trilogy’s conclusion storyline.

What is Guardians of the Galaxy 3 about?

How long will Guardians of the Galaxy 3 run?
The surprisingly long running time for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was announced by a ticket agent as running at 2 hours and 29 minutes, making it by far the longest film in the trilogy and even director James Gunn’s longest flick ever.
The first Guardian The film ran for 2 hours and 2 minutes while the second jumped to 2 hours and 17 minutes. Meanwhile, the recently released Disney+ Holiday Special ran much shorter, at around 42 minutes.
What is the age rating of Guardians of the Galaxy 3?
As expected, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was recently rated PG-13 by the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), much like every other film in the MCU to date known to cater to family audiences.
The rating was for “Intense sequences of violence and action, strong language, suggestive/drug references, and thematic elements.”
Who will die in Guardians of the Galaxy 3?
James Gunn has subtly hinted that a serious death is imminent Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3and since this seems to be the end of the road for this group of heroes, most seem to agree that at least one of the team will not make it out alive.

James Gunn has already confirmed that it is Adam Warlock “Definitely not a good guy” when he debuts, as he currently does “does not understand life very well:
“But he’s definitely not a good guy. What we see is the infant form of Warlock, fresh out of the cocoon, and he doesn’t understand life very well. He’s basically a baby.”
However, in the comics, Adam Warlock tends to find himself on the heroic path at some point. Gunn has already suggested that he could become a “really important character” in the MCU, so maybe Will Poulter Guardian character will be back.
So who is the villain of Guardians of the Galaxy 3?
So, if not Adam Warlock, who will be the main antagonist? Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? This honor goes to the High Evolutionary, played by peacemaker Star Chukwudi Iwuji, a character with close ties to Rocket Raccoon’s past.
The “sociopathic” High Evolutionary has a long history of experimenting with living beings to create what he sees as the ultimate life form. His creations included the Guardians’ Rocket Raccoon himself.
How does Gamora live in Guardians of the Galaxy 3?
As many will remember, Gamora met her death in Avengers: Infinity War when her father Thanos sacrificed her to get his hands on the Soul Stone. So how does she live to play a major role in it? Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
Well, the original Gamora seen so far in the MCU remains dead. However, the time travel antics of Avengers: Endgame 2014 saw Pre-Guardians move Gamora to the present, where she stayed at the end of the film.
This version of Zoe Salanda’s MCU heroine will be free of her history with Peter Quill and the Guardians, as she now leads the Ravagers on her own.
Are Mantis and Star Lord siblings in the MCU?
Disney+’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special revealed that Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, and Pom Klementieff’s Mantis are half-siblings, with both being children of Kurt Russell Vol 2 villain ego the living planet.
The revelation originally came out in a deleted scene Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2but only officially became canon in the Special Presentation – although the moment was actually spoiled by Marvel Studios themselves prior to release.
Their sibling connection was originally hidden from Quill until Mantis shared with him about their familial relationship in a heartfelt moment at the end of the Disney+ special.
When is Guardians of the Galaxy 3 coming to Disney+?
The window between the theatrical release of an MCU film and the release of Disney+ has varied greatly throughout the Multiverse saga, from the low end of 47 days Doctor Strange 2 to the frustratingly high end of 82 days for Black Panther 2.
This could leave the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is coming to Disney+ somewhere between late June and late July, with an exact date likely to be announced a few weeks after the theatrical launch begins.
Will there be Guardians of the Galaxy 4?
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been heralded as the end of the road for this group of galactic heroes. Several members of the cast have already addressed their impending retirement from the MCU, and the trailers have unleashed the lead “one last time,” So all signs point to this being the final installment in the franchise.
At one point Gunn said “Never say Never” To volume 4despite seeing volume 3 as “the end of the story of the Wardens”, but that all came before his DC promotion. At least for now, the blunt answer as to whether there will be one Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 is almost certainly a resounding no.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has already released two trailers, the first of which came out in December with a deeply emotional trailer set to the sound of Spacehog’s “In The Meantime” that may reveal the deeper meaning of the threequel.
The second and final trailer followed in February, with a brutal look at Rocket’s origins, a wild callback to Thanos himself, and even a climax to one of the High Evolutionary’s superpowers.
