So far in the first two seasons of the show, viewers have watched Dwayne Johnson grow up and turn to professional wrestling as he got older. The show also moves between many different periods in Johnson’s life, including a future where he becomes a presidential candidate. The quote reads, “He (Dwayne Johnson) has been out of the public eye for a bit, but then he gets the call from President Taft telling him there’s a national crisis and he needs Dwayne’s help. So he’s kind of pulled back into the mix.” That emphasis on the non-biopic side doesn’t detract from the down-to-earth nature of the rest of the storyline, however, as Chiang and Khan add, “It’s quite rewarding because we care so much about his We want his honorable family and their story and his support and all the little details he’s willing to share that help us make this show more specific.” Fans of the show’s autobiographical nature can be excited for what’s to come, and this quote suggests just how much passion and care went into this project.
