Rihanna, ASAP Rocky’s second son named Riot Rose Mayers
According to a report citing the baby’s birth certificate, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky have agreed on a name for their second son.
The Fenty Beauty founder, 35, and “Sundress” rapper, 34, reportedly named their newborn child Riot Rose Mayers Explosion reported Thursday. The family of four now consists of mother Robyn, father Rakim and sons RZA and Riot. Does anyone sense a theme here?
If “Riot” sounds familiar to any ASAP Rocky fans, it might be because the rapper released a song of the same name earlier this year. In July, ASAP Rocky released “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)” with lyrics that led fans to speculate that he and Rihanna had tied the knot.
“My wife is erotic, I smoke exotic,” he raps. “My whip is exotic, my crib is a little house.”
ASAP Rocky’s music previously sparked marriage speculation when he released the music video for “DMB.” in May 2022 with Rihanna in the lead role. In the clip, ASAP wears a gold grill that says “Marry Me?”
Rihanna’s bedazzled accessory reads, “I do.”
The artist couple welcomed their newborn early last month. Like his older brother, Baby Riot’s name appears to have a musical origin.
In May, Daily Mail and People revealed that the couple’s first son, RZA (pronounced: RIZZ-er). The child shares the same name as the founding member of the legendary Staten Island hip-hop group Wu Tang Clan.
Riot may have a deeper meaning for Rihanna and ASAP, but the name quickly became the stuff of internet memes and jokes.
“God gave Rihanna and A$AP Rocky nine months to choose a name for their baby boy and all they could come up with was Riot?” wrote User @HantibeDavid.
“RIOT is a tribute to @paramore’s best album” joked @gabiu_x. “You have great taste.”
As of Friday, none of the musicians shared news about their second child on their Instagram pages. However, Rihanna announced on Thursday that she is revamping her Fenty x Puma footwear partnership.
“We’re back…reintroducing the Avanti ⚽️,” she said labeled photos of herself wearing a baggy black sports set and black and white shoes. Rihanna’s new shoes will be available on September 15th.
Despite the news about baby names and shoes, it seems fans are still waiting to hear about new music.
“Every time she posts something I think it’s the album announcement and I’m having a heart attack.” Instagram user Vanedelreit replied.
