Rihanna will headline the Super Bowl 2023 halftime show, the National Football League, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Sunday.
The official press release came shortly after the Grammy winner sparked fan excitement by posting a photo of an NFL football on her social media pages.
“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman from humble beginnings who has exceeded expectations at every turn,” Roc Nation founder Jay-Z said in a statement. “A person who was born on the small island of Barbados and became one of the most prominent artists of all time. Self-made in business and entertainment.”
“We are very excited to welcome Rihanna to the stage of the … Halftime Show,” added NFL Music Director Seth Dudowsky. “Rihanna is a one-of-a-kind artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career.”
This year’s halftime show at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium was hosted by Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre headed. Super Bowl LVII takes place on February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
