Ring doorbell owners warned of button you must NEVER press – or you’ll miss important alerts

There is a button on most iPhones that if pressed can cause you to miss important notifications from your Ring Doorbell.

It’s best to turn on your notifications on your Ring device – otherwise the security system is almost useless when you’re away from home.

Ring owners receive push notifications by default.

This is when the alert stays on your phone screen until you interact with it to make it go away.

However, the Do Not Disturb button on your iPhone prevents these alerts from getting through.

It resides in the Control Center on your iPhone for easy access.

All you have to do to activate it is touch and hold the focus button and then tap Do Not Disturb.

This prevents all push notifications from getting through.

It’s peaceful and might be necessary for a while.

But you could accidentally miss important alerts from your Ring security system.

If you don’t want to be disturbed at a certain time, you can set a schedule and change other Do Not Disturb features to help you focus.

Just go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb.

It’s important to note that if you turn on notifications on your phone, they won’t automatically turn on on your tablet.

As such, you’ll need to manually change your notification settings for each Ring-connected device.

To ensure your notifications are turned on, open the Ring app and go to your device settings.

Turn on the Ring Alerts and Motion Alerts toggles and you’re good to go.
