Her position as assistant presenter was called into question when main presenter Holly Willoughby, 42, failed to name Rochelle in her speech following the Phillip Schofield affair scandal.

But now the Up singer has confirmed she will return after all, in response to a curious fan’s question: “Are you still hosting This Morning?”

Rochelle – who hasn’t been on the program for months – wrote in her story: “Yeah I’ll be back in the summer…”

She became one of the few stars to appear to speak out for Phillip after he left This Morning and the channel altogether after admitting to lying about an affair with a much younger male colleague.

Rochelle first publicly expressed her support for the presenter when she uploaded some pictures of them on set, giggling on the sofa and fooling around in a beauty segment.

In her caption, she wrote: “Proud to have been a part of the This Morning family for almost 10 years and it has been an absolute pleasure to learn so much from you over the past few years.”

“Thank you for all the lessons – you are a source of knowledge and laughter.”

But just a day later, she released a more cryptic post that left her fans guessing as to the meaning.

The cryptic post on her page was about “surviving bad days.”

It mentioned that “every day is a new day” and that “what people think of you is none of your business”.

The Sun previously revealed that Phil was “completely broken” after being thrown off the blue sofa.

To soften the blow, he’s being handed six months’ salary after ITV decided his feud with Holly was losing too many viewers.

A source said: “Phil got his This Morning pay for six months – but if that’s to make him feel better, it just doesn’t work.”

“Phil feels he has not been shown any respect and is devastated at how things have turned out.

“He finds the way he was forced to resign so unfair and feels completely heartbroken by the way this situation has been handled.

“That morning was Phil’s life and now he feels like he was stabbed without proper counseling.”
