Rogue Legacy 2 gets a big patch that improves biomes and balances classes

Rogue Legacy 2 was released to a lot of reviews, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t much to improve on. Game crashes have been a problem for some, and there will always be bugs. With that in mind, Rogue Legacy 2 only one big Patches earlier today, improved some biomes, address indicates crash and balance a few classes. It does a lot more, so let’s dive in.

Problems seem to be a difficult thing to solve for developer Cellar Door Games. The studio has narrowed it down to a few reasons. The problem could be related to Xbox Series controllers lacking the right firmware, which can be fixed with an update or an overclocked or overheated player’s GPU. For the second case, the developer suggests setting the GPS Maximum Limit in the options. If your game still crashes, Cellar Door refers to an OpenGL graphics API that can be found in the Launch Preferences, where you need to add this line (without quotes): ‘-force- glcore32’.

The patch only balances some layers in Rogue Legacy 2. The team found Mage to be quite powerful, but some players found its learning curve “incomprehensiblely steep”. To improve the Mage class, the patch made it so that its Mana Burn Passive ability would activate on both weapon attacks as well as kicks. Explosions for Wand of Blasting will now also apply SpellBreak. Ronin is “more reliable” in the Pishon Dry Lake Biome, and the Katana won’t hit the hit points or pedestals you’re standing on. Buffs are being applied to three other classes, including Dragon Lancer, Bard, and Gunslinger.

Biomes, bugs and even more bugs in Rogue Legacy 2 patch

Two rooms and two biomes are getting minor changes with the patch. The Tower of the Sun, for one, now grants 20% gold while in the Tower. Windmills are easier to dodge and swirl rocks. Explosion damage for Primary Danger has been removed due to the box hitting the target. And finally, the team made some of the background easier. The light radius for your Sun Lantern is increased by 6% in Pishon Dry Lake. The “universe death room” in the Common Room no longer has a ceiling and the timer was removed in one of the Fairy challenges in the Fairy Room.

As mentioned, it’s a big patch. There are a lot of changes that I can’t cover here, from NPCs, to visual improvements, quality of life updates, and bug fixes. Check out the Steam Community announcement to learn more. Rogue Legacy 2 gets a big patch that improves biomes and balances classes
