Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger, 79, has become ‘engaged’ to his girlfriend Mel Hamrick, 36, but has NO plans to get married

SIR Mick Jagger plans to marry his girlfriend Mel Hamrickwho is 43 years his junior.

It has been reported that the 79-year-old Rolling Stones singer directed the question to his significant other, who is the mother of his eighth child.

The couple met in 2014 and have a six-year-old son, Deveraux.

Sources insist ex-ballerina Mel has told friends about her engagement – despite laughing at a “promise ring” last month.

An insider told sunday mirror: “Melanie was at the American Ballet Theater and told her friends that she was engaged to Mick.

“She made it clear that her ring is an engagement ring and that she is now his fiancee.”

“Her family also has great understanding for the engagement and is enthusiastic.”

Mel had previously denied being engaged after she was spotted with a ring on her engagement finger.

She said: “I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes.

“But are we like horny teenagers where we give each other … In my mind, it’s a promise ring.”

According to sources, she still maintains that there are no plans for marriage, adding, “But being engaged means a lot to Melanie.”

This will be Mick’s third engagement after marrying Bianca Perez Mora Macias in 1971.

They divorced seven years later and married supermodel Jerry Hall that same year.

They had an unofficial wedding in Bali, Indonesia in 1990 before separating nine years later.

Mick’s eldest child is Karis Hunt Jagger from his relationship with US star Marsha Hunt.

He then got Jade Jagger with his ex-wife Bianca.

Mick has four children with ex-partner Jerry – Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel.

In 1999, after an affair with Brazilian model and TV presenter Luciana Gimenez, he had a love child, Lucas.
