Roma prepare January bid to sign Tottenham target Davide Frattesi

AS Roma are reportedly preparing a bid to sign Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi with Tottenham likely losing the race for the Italy international.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Jose Mourinho’s side are set to make an offer for the Serie A maestro in the January transfer window, an offer that could see Tottenham miss out on Frattesi as the midfielder has previously admitted he dreams of joining Roma sign.

One of Italy’s best midfielders this season, Frattesi became an Azurri international this year when the midfielder was called up to Roberto Mancini’s squad in just a notable highlight in a whirlwind 12 months for the 23-year-old talent.

And as TuttoMercatoWeb reports, Tottenham are now interested in signing Frattesi, although Antonio Conte’s side could soon miss out on the Sassuolo star if Roma make an offer to bring the midfielder back to the Italian capital.

Frattesi was once on Roma books before the playmaker was sacked by the club in 2017. The midfielder has been with Sassuolo since joining and has thrived as one of Serie A’s most exciting talents and a player who could soon return to his youth club.

Indeed, Roma would be a dream move for Frattesi given his deep love for the Giallorossi and for Tottenham they may have to contend with the fact that they may not now have a chance to sign the midfielder in the January transfer window.
