Russia Expands Shelling of Kherson, as Power Shortages Drag On in Kyiv

KHERSON, Ukraine — Russian forces stepped up their shelling on the southern city of Kherson, killing seven people and wounding at least 21 others in the latest wave of air strikes, according to local officials.

Two weeks have passed since Russian troops withdrew from Kherson, and the people – though still delighted at being liberated from Russian occupation – are faced with a new set of challenges. The city, like much of Ukraine, still has no electricity, heat or running water. Weak mobile signal. Tents providing heat, water and internet access have been set up around the city.
