Russia’s war against Ukraine appears to have taken a modest turn in Ukraine’s favour, a sign of which is Vladimir Putin’s fresh threats and bid for arms from his own vassal states.
Russia expected its February blitz to end in quick victory, but the conflict has stalled and Ukraine is now ramping up an offensive in the south aimed at destroying Russian logistics and retaking territory. Russia had to reduce its stockpiles of ammunition. Smart guns are struggling to restock largely because of the Western embargo on the sale of computer chips and other components used in modern weapons.
